Ignite Setup
This page is for information regarding the setup, configuration and installation of Ignite Radios (millimeter wave)
IMPORTANT POE INFORMATION
Each Ignite Device comes with it's own POE type. MAKE SURE YOU USE THE CORRECT POE AS THE INCORRECT VOLTAGE WILL DAMAGE EQUIPMENT.
- MetroLinq LW FCC and MetroLinq 60-35 use 24 volt 1 amp POE's
- MetroLinq 2.5 60-35 use 48 volt .55 amp POE's
- The OMNI Sectors use 48 volt 1.35 amp POE's
WHEN IN DOUBT CHECK THE SPEC SHEET
Configuration
The default IP address of a brand new radio is http://192.168.1.20
To reach the radio, do the following: Open the Control Panel- Network and Sharing Center- Change Adapter Settings- choose the Ethernet connection you are using, and select properties. Change the IP under the IPv4 selection.
- Set your IP address to 192.168.1.100 with a subnet of 255.255.255.0 (figure 1)
- Open a command prompt and run the command (without quotes): “ping 192.168.1.20 -t”
- Confirm you are able to ping the radio
Log into the radio:
- Open a browser in Private Browsing / Incognito mode
- type 192.168.1.20 in the browser
- username: root password: admin123
You will be asked if this device is managed by the cloud. Click NO
Upgrade the Firmware on the Unit BEFORE Configuration
- Click system
- Click maintenance
- Click Upgrade
- Click “change” and select the firmware version (currently 2.4.2-4179)
- Click Upgrade
- Click on Proceed when the next window appears. This will take 2-4 minutes
- Configure the Radio Settings *this is done onsite after mounted on the roof and dialed in*
When the device responds to pings again, log back into the radio. THESE SETTINGS MUST BE EXACT OR THE RADIO WILL NOT CONNECT TO A SITE You will also risk the wrath of the field technician doing the install.
- Click on Wireless. Select the 60 GHz radio. The 5 GHz radio will not be used by us - DO NOT turn it on
- Mode: Client
- Channel: Auto
- Enter the AP Key - PCjUWKwCpe43kvsV
- Turn the transmit power to the maximum
- Click Save
- Click Apply

Set the VLAN Settings
This it the final step, be absolutely certain every setting before is correct. Once a VLAN is set, you will not be able to log back into it easily
Select Network
- Turn “Mgmt VLAN” on
- Set “Mgmt VLAN ID” to 202
- Click Save and apply the settings
If done correctly, your ping will no longer work but the radio is ready for installation
