Quick Check: Common Causes of Intermittent Connection

  1. Poor WiFi Connection
  2. Dying Router/Device
  3. (Rarely) poor light levels on Modem
  4. (Rarely) power loss to modem

First, determine if the intermittent issue is coming from their home network or from our equipment. In most cases it will be with their home network (Wi-Fi issues).

Ask the following questions to narrow it down.

  1. Is this happening on all devices?
  2. Have you tested another device when you see the internet drop on the device having the issue?
  3. Are you rebooting the router when it happens?

If they are rebooting the router and it fixes the issue then the issue is with the router. If it is not happneing on all devices good chance it is the router. Running ping plotter on a device plugged directly into the ONT overnight will help verify where the issue is happening.
