To determine the quality of the link:
- “Link Downs” should be minimal. A few dozen are not uncommon, several hundred could indicate a problem
- “Signal” should be as high as possible. 80-100 are normal, good numbers here
- “MCS” should be 8. 8 indicates the highest quality connection to the AP
- “PHY RATE” should be 2.3 GBs (or as close to it as possible)
- “RSSI” is your normal signal read. The closer to 0 the better, -60 through -50 is the ideal range.
- “Tx Center Info” should read “center”. If the dish is out of alignment, it will tell you by how much
If any or some of these settings are worse than listed here, this could indicate a problem. Please proceed with a normal bypass test to www.fast.com
